Konnichiwa from Nippon!
Konnichiwa!
I’ve only been in Japan for a few days, but I’m ecstatic from what I’ve experienced so far. I’ve met so many great people and the cultural shock and differences from Australia have been life changing.
Although my experience has been limited, I’ve already been to a few cities, so far the major ones that left an impression were Shibuya, and Ueno. I was so amazed by the amount of people and the infrastructure within the cities, it’s completely different from my home. I didn’t have enough time to fully explore the cities, but I’m very eager to go back and further my explorations of these wonderful new places.
In Ueno we went on a shopping spree, there were quite a few cheap markets and my friends and I even went to a video game arcade – which I absolutely loved. We spent some time sifting through all the different stores.

After, we went past the Kiyomizu Kannon-do temple, where I learnt more about Japanese religion, and culture. The building was beautifully presented and held the spiritualism of the Japanese people.
The pictures below illustrates my initial sight of Shibuya, we got out of the train station and a huge festival was underway. I was in awe of the amount of people, as well as the vibe of the whole crowd. They were wading through the streets, and playing instruments in unison, which truly depicted the Japanese sense of unity.
